Documentary Work: Colliseum

• Formally named the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Coliseum
• This image is under the Knecht collection, but this image was actually taken by W.E. Deeds in 1917 shortly after it’s construction. Deeds also worked for the Evansville Courier. W.E. Deeds died during the 1920’s.

• This location has been used as a laundromat, and the attachment on the right side of the building is now occupied by a barbershop.

Documentary Work: Old Post Office

Old Post Office
200 N.W. Second Street
• This image of the post office is under the Knecht collection but this image of the Post office was actually taken by W.E. Deeds in the winter of 1914.
• W.E. Deeds also worked for the Evansville Courier. Deeds died during the 1920’s.
• On the back of the image, W.E. Deeds noted that the year and season the image was taken as well as the fact that there was a kiosk at the corner that had weather instruments.
