Do I have what it takes to write?

The feel of the paper moving under my fingers as I turn the page, the texture of the spine, and the smell of the pages brushing by my nose as I turn each page, all of these things appeal to my senses, and lure me to pick up another book.
If I said that I loved to read it would be an understatement. I enjoy many different types of reading including: a good novel, a trendy magazine, or even a textbook if it is something that I am interested in or passionate. Considering how much I enjoy reading, surprisingly I have never considered writing.
Writing to me, is a form of art. And although I think of myself as an artist, I have made and sculptures and paintings, and used my favorite artist tool, my camera to capture moments in history, but I have never thought about caring my art over to the realm of writing.
I have so many areas of interest that I would love to share my thoughts on. For instance, photography for me is a form of expression, and I have dreamed for years of having a book of my photographs published. I would also love to have a column in Creating Keepsakes, or another well-known scrapbook magazine to reveal new techniques and ideas. I love to cook for my family, and have even contemplated writing a cookbook with my very own recipes inside. Even though writing a novel or short story would be very difficult and time consuming, I would love to challenge myself in that way as well. To have someone read an article or novel that I have written would be a incredible honor.
